Photo Teaser: Daifuku

Look what my friend and I made last night! Japanese pounded rice cakes (mochi) filled with sweet azuki bean paste. I didn’t believe it was possible, but I believe now. I do, I do!

Thanksgiving 2011

Our Thanksgiving feast 🙂

Savory…

Turkey, stuffing (my favorite), mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, mixed veggies and a deviled egg

To mop up the sauce…

Butter rolls

And then the sweet…

Classic apple pie and coconut pumpkin pie

Recipes coming soon!

I’m home again. I baked, I ate, I traditioned. After all that, I’m ready for sleep.

I’ll write about the pies tomorrow.

Ciao ciao and happy thanksgiving

Haupia

A gift from my friend Candice. Delicious, creamy coconut pudding from Hawaii.

And it came from a mix.

Recipe to come!

Still here, still baking

It has been months since I last posted! I started a new job, I moved (for the nth time), and a bunch of other stuff. In any case, only recently does it feel like life is finally settling down. So on this quiet Sunday, I thought I’d write a quick note just to say…I am still here and I am still baking!

I don’t have any recipes to share. Well, that’s not true; I do, but I’m not feeling so bloggy at this moment. I’m just glad to get this one post out there. Hey, it’s been 3 months; I have to ease my way back into things. Anyway, I’ll leave you with a little preview of what I’ve been up to in my kitchen. And I promise, I’ll post the recipes sooooon (^_^”)

Photo Teaser: Italian Ricotta Tart

I haven’t had a chance to finish my write-up about the Italian ricotta tart I made last night, but I promise it’s on it’s way!

So in the meantime, here’s a little something to whet your appetite 🙂
